QUESTIONS ABOUT LIFE COACHING

What would I do in Life Coaching?

In life coaching people make time to analyze who they really are, with their own dreams, passions, and beliefs. This awareness is a powerful core from which to base decisions – decisions about how to spend time, energy, and talents. When life decisions are based on this, rather than on an overbooked calendar, we can be authentic and intentional. All of this analysis work is done with a wide variety of life coaching tools that are eye-opening and thought-provoking.

Who Hires a Life Coach?

The person who reaches out to hire a life coach is one who, when faced with either opportunities or challenges, wants to make things better. Find Joy Life Coaching  works with people who want to clarify the stress of life, determine what change they want, and uncover what may be blocking them from getting there. With a plan, Find Joy Life Coaching clients become more intentional and effective in work life as well as family life.

The people who hire a life coach have glimpsed their purpose and are eager to lead a meaningful life. It may not be clear where to begin, or how to proceed but they know they were created to be something good - do something extraordinary – and they want to live up to that.

Is Coaching Only for People With Problems?

No, some people work with a life coach for an extended time, to stay focused on what’s really important to them in their lives. However, have you noticed that there is often conflict or pain before you have been motivated to make a change? That’s when most people call for coaching – when life is difficult.

If you are feeling unsettled about some aspect of your life, whether it’s a divorce, parenting challenges, or some other obstacle that is keeping you awake at night, life coaching can provide tools for you to sort things out and make wise decisions. Conflict, while we don’t enjoy it, can be just the catalyst we need to make life better.

Life coaching is an opportunity for a healthy person to become fully aware of what can be improved in life. It is not therapy. A coach works with people who want to go beyond “just OK” to a full life lived with clear vision, fulfillment, and happiness.

Is Life Coaching only for Women?

It’s true that I have more female clients than men, but many men understand that productivity and effectiveness in a career is influenced by personal fulfillment and satisfaction. These are men who coach about parenting challenges, getting through divorce, and developing healthy relationships with both men and women. Life Coaching helps people find clarity when life is chaotic — and that crosses all lines of gender!

How can a Life Coach Help Me?

As your life coach, I will be fully present for you. In this hectic world it is rare to find someone who is truly interested in what you say, think, and feel without bringing their own agenda. As I listen to you and process observations with you, I serve as a mirror in which you can see yourself, your options, and your decisions. Viewing a clear reflection of yourself is an integral part of becoming who you want to be.

Working with a life coach means that you will be held accountable for progressing toward your own goals. When you discover an aspect of yourself or your life that you want to change, as your life coach I will help you spell out a workable plan, and stick to it. Life coaching is more than just talk – it is action and results.

What is a Coaching Specialty?

Coaches tend to specialize in niches such as career, health, finances, and more. I have chosen to specialize my coaching for people who are experiencing divorce, or parenting challenges. I have extensive education and training in these areas, as well as more than my share of life experience!

Does Life Coaching Really Work?

YES! You will learn powerful new strategies to celebrate your strengths, and make those strengths work for your future. At the end of each coaching session you will have a plan to do something better for your life, and as your coach, I will hold you accountable each step of the way.

How do I Start?

  1. Request a free introductory session to experience some coaching tools and see how life coaching works. In this one free hour you will begin to sort out whatever is going on in your own life.
  2. Subscribe for one month which includes three phone calls, each lasting about one hour. Besides the personal life coaching calls, you will have email communication throughout the month.
  3. Coaching is on a month-by-month agreement, and you may cancel at any time. Some clients coach for only one month to get clarity about a specific situation. Most clients coach for three to six months - gaining insight, confidence, or courage  and changing habits which bring more joy to life. Some clients work with a life coach for years as they continually learn more about themselves and enjoy great satisfaction as they make a difference in the lives of people around them.
